Mindfulness Practice and Impact on Business Leaders
Does Mindfulness practice actually work?
A recent article posted in Harvard Business Review sheds light on this question. For the first time ever, their team of researchers conducted a controlled study. The goal of their study was to assess the impact of a daily mindfulness practice on business leadership capacity.
The results of their study showed statistically significant improvement in three business capacities:
Ability to collaborate
Ability to lead in complex conditions
Conclusions drawn from their study showed that a mindfulness practice improves business leadership skills. More importantly, the practice does not require a lot of time each day. To conclude, a minimum of 10 minutes spent each day on mindfulness was the key; that amounts to 1% of your awake minutes EACH day.
What we conclude from this article is the importance of starting and continuing a mindfulness practice. Here are three keys that we believe are needed to ensure your mindfulness practice is successful over the long run.
